John Smythe LLB – Partner
John practices in the areas of residential and commercial conveyancing, land development, farm sales, commercial leasing, company law, business sales and acquisitions, wills, trusts and estate work as well as relationship property. He also enjoys working for a number of clients in the fishing industry.
John has a knack for thinking outside the square when faced with difficult legal issues. John is realistic and honest in his dealings with clients.
Outside of the law John has given up yachts for smaller faster vessels and is a force to be reckoned with on a windsurfer. When there’s no wind John enjoys his wife’s cooking.
John lives in Whangateau. He is married with three daughters and he enjoys spending time with his family at their holiday home in Raglan. |

Lucy Smythe BSc LLB – Partner
Lucy joined her father in the firm in 2009 after working abroad in a London law firm for 6 years. She has 3 children.
Lucy specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing, subdivisions, business sale and purchases, relationship property, estates, wills and trusts.
She brings to the firm a young enthusiastic outlook on life. Lucy relates to a wide variety of individuals and she is particularly skilful at explaining difficult legal issues, without legal jargon, in a way clients can understand.
Outside of work Lucy enjoys fishing, surfing, beaching, snowboarding, cooking and travel. |

Donna Shaw – Legal Executive
Donna is a Legal Executive who has been working with us on a part-time basis since 2005 handling Estate matters. She lives in Warkworth and is married with three children.

Megan Saunders – Legal Secretary to John Smythe
Megan is a legal secretary to John Smythe and joined our firm in 2001. She moved to Warkworth from the Waikato with her husband in 1998. When not working she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves music (except heavy metal) and enjoys walking, fishing and gardening.

Joan is a legal secretary and has been working for us since 1981. She now works on a part time basis and lives with her family at Scotts Landing. |

Trudy joined the firm in December 2014 and works as a part-time Legal Secretary. Trudy enjoys yoga, paddle-boarding, walking and spending time with her children.

Lori joined us in December 2013. She is a keen barrel racer and breeds warm bloods and quarter horses. |
